Fans of Mississippi State football can embrace their first bowl bid in seven seasons. Awaiting the Bulldogs however is a very talented UCF team that boasts one of the best running backs in the country in Kevin Smith. The Knights ran for 243 YARDS PER GAME and 5.1 YPR in ’07 and will be a true test for an MSU defense that allowed a healthy 159 YARDS PER GAME on the ground. HC George O’Leary’s team also boasts what may be one of the two competent defenses in Conference USA. Overall, UCF was 10 & 3 straight up AND 8 & 5 ATS this season and comes in riding a 7 game winning streak in which it was 5 & 2 ATS. The Knights are a 3 & point favorite over a Bulldogs’ team that boasts wins over Auburn, Kentucky, and Alabama. HC Sylvester Croom’s team was outgained by 36 YARDS PER GAME though over the course of the season.
